Sedation Dentistry Cherry Hill

Comfortable Care & Positive Experiences

Dental fear and anxiety play a large role in oral health maintenance, as these emotional responses to visiting the dentist can keep patients from scheduling important preventive appointments, as well as emergency dental care. Dr. Lee strives to create an environment in which her patients feel welcomed, at-ease, and comfortable, but she understands that this isn’t always possible with a gentle touch and friendly and kind demeanor. That’s why we also offer sedation dentistry in Cherry Hill for both adults and children. If you would like to take advantage of any of the sedation methods listed on this page, be sure to call our office before your appointment to let us know.

Anxious About Dental Care? Trust in Dr. Lee

Dr. Lee is passionate about being a trauma-informed dentist, which means that she takes the time to understand what patients have gone through that might have led to anxiety and/or fear of the dentist’s office. If you’ve had a bad experience before, you can rely on her to provide a truly gentle and compassionate approach that helps you feel at ease, which may include sedation dentistry. She and the rest of our team are here to make a positive difference in your health and wellbeing!

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is administered via a single pill that you’ll take before your appointment, or as soon as you arrive at our office. Typically, we use medication in the diazepam family for its fast-acting and lasting effects that help you feel relaxed while you’re in the treatment chair. Because the effects can linger for several hours, we recommend having a trusted friend or family member ready to both drop you off and pick you up from your appointment.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is a mixture of gas and oxygen that can be breathed-in for nearly immediate effects. We’ll place a small nose mask on you while you’re in the treatment chair and adjust the nitrous oxide accordingly. Within less than a minute, you’ll feel a euphoric, calming wave wash over you. Once your treatment is complete, we’ll turn off the gas and have you breathe oxygen in for a moment, helping to flush the effects out of your system. Patients are typically able to return to work or school directly after treatment with this sedation method, as there are no lingering side-effects.
