Digital Impressions

In the past, dentists would use putty to capture impressions of the mouth. While this got the job done, it wasn’t as detailed as it could have been and often caused patients to gag. Fortunately, you won’t have to go through that at Kingston Family Cosmetic Dental Center. We utilize a digital impression system to create a detailed digital topographic map of your oral structure. The process only takes a couple of minutes and allows us to immediately send the digital file to our trusted dental laboratory to craft your oral appliance or restoration.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our cone beam CT scanner is an amazing piece of technology that can help with diagnoses as well as precise treatment planning. It’s similar to an X-ray, but instead of capturing a 2-D, non-detailed image of your smile, it creates a 3-D one, allowing Dr. Lee to view the location of your sinuses and facial nerves, as well as the density of your jawbone. It takes less than 30 seconds to capture as well, helping streamline your appointment, all while improving the quality of your treatment or examination.

The Wand™

One of our top priorities is our patient’s comfort, which is why we offer several dental sedation methods as well as The Wand, a single tooth injector for local anesthesia. It painlessly administers a numbing agent in the precise area where Dr. Lee will be treating, eliminating the chances for collateral numbness, and allowing you to carry on with your day following your procedure.

Intraoral Cameras

Our intraoral camera is a small, wand-like device with a camera at the tip of it that we can maneuver around the mouth to capture still images and video footage of hard-to-see areas. Because the footage can be displayed on a large chairside monitor, they’re an excellent resource for educating our patients about why we’re recommending certain treatments. They can also be used as a visual element when explaining why we made certain diagnoses.
