Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are brand names for Botulinum type A toxin. Each has different molecules attached to it so the pharmaceutical companies can patent them. It is a purified protein with extra molecules attached. There is no danger of Botulinum poisoningfor any therapeutic dosage. The working part is the same on all of them. They affect the motor nerves to the muscle fibers. When used for cosmetic purposes, muscle fibers become relaxed within a number of days after treatment, and then the lines in the skin above them smooth out. What is the difference between Botulinum toxins and Dermal Fillers?
